Learntertain — Learning while being entertained.

I believe that the most effective way of learning things is by being entertained too. You probably have heard that experience is the best teacher, but sometimes experience is a bit painful and costly way to learn as well. In my case, I learned not to drink and drive when I had an accident that almost killed me. That was a painful experience but from that point on, I never drove a vehicle again when I drink and I refuse to be a passenger of a buzzed driver. In the personal finance world, some people lose hundreds or thousands or even more money before they realize how to handle it and be good stewards. Experience will surely teach you how to do better in life in general but could be a painful or costly way. No, I am not trying to diminish the importance of experience but if you could also find a way to learn without costing you so much pain and/or money, why wouldn’t you go for it?

Practice makes perfect! Although no one is really perfect but being absolutely good at what you do is a fruit of your tireless practice and repetition of doing it. Stephen Curry shoots hundreds of basketballs behind the 3-pt arc during practice and I am sure he practices very often if not every day. In fact, he has been playing basketball since he was a kid. He hung out with his dad even on and even plays with him for fun. Yes, he was having fun! He was getting entertained while learning to shoot hoops.

Confucius once said, “find a job that you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life!” But before you can love your job, you have to be somehow get entertained with it. Once you find out that it is entertaining, you will like it and eventually love it. Since you love what you do, you will eventually be good at it since it is entertaining (at least to you), you will enjoy practicing it.
